Raisu Hanamura was training once again. It had been a long, long time since he'd actually done that, and when he began, it almost felt as if he stumbling around blind. All he'd done in the past year was maintain, but now Raisu was moving forward again. Recent events would not allow him to stand idly by. The red haired hybrid had to keep moving forward. That meant getting back in the saddle of the horse that threw him. That meant training again. Raisu just had to find his footing one more time.
It was past noon by the time Raisu had finally eased himself back into the swing of things. The hybrid had started with his usual assortment of basics, the kind that he'd learned as a child: breathing techniques, push-ups, sit-ups, the fundamental exercises that formed the cornerstone of a healthy body. But he knew damn well that he could not grow if that was all he did. Raisu would have to flex his master of ki once again.
As Raisu stood on the sandy beach outside his home, his stomach churned ever so slightly. It had been a while since he seriously used ki. What if he'd forgotten how? Could one forget how to manipulate ki like that? Or was it more akin to riding a bicycle, and one could never truly forget? The halfblood hoped for the latter, though there was only one true way to find out.
With a grunt, Raisu's energy surged forth. The white aura rose around him, like a white hot flame. Sand flew out around him as the power rose, the shock wave sending a shower of the stuff like a ripple. Raisu grunted as the power was cut loose. The power came with little difficulty, no more than it once had. Holding a single hand above his head, white ki, the color of the stars, began to gather in the palm of his hand, crackling like electricity. This was his old favorite: the Starlight Beam, his oldest technique.
Raisu let loose the bolt of power and it went barreling skywards, like some kind of shooting star. The brilliant light of it cast him in its glow, white light replacing sunlight. It sailed upward for a good long while before the beam finally expired. With a satisfied sigh, Raisu let his arm down. "Damn," muttered "Been a long time since I did that. Felt good."
Yes, indeed, it felt good to exercise his power like that. Of course, who knew what kind of attention it might attract?
