It hasn’t been long since the woman had begun to settle her affairs. However, after a brief exchange, Noxa was made aware that there was already someone who she might have to consult — or, rather, confront for the position she had been promised.
Noxa arrived at a pathetic excuse for what she had expected to be a grand locale full of well-trained warriors. Apparently, this was some sort of base of operations for the Empire’s combative might... However, Noxa found herself growing to be utterly irritated at the lack of command present; the woman had mentally prepared herself for a battle in order to claim the throne of the Arcosian Military’s most elite forces. However, she arrived to find barren emptiness — a dusted complex.
The virago’s heels clicked and clacked against the complex’s floor. The place reeked of dust — hell, the damned lights wouldn’t even turn on! It shouldn’t have been a surprise; not a single power level had been present at the moment. The sharply torn edges of her coat glided behind the woman, licking the stale air of these military ‘ruins’. Her hair, writhing, found itself with the uncontrollable urge to lash out and punish the infrastructure for the disappointment presented to her by Emperor Retsu, but bred under the blatant lack of action under the False Emperor Abzerute and his clearly lacking workers.
Not that the woman had heard much of what Abzerute said, but if he had been indeed arguing over how much he had toiled over the Empire than Noxa was very much glad to have put her foot down and ended hit hot air where she did. Actions spoke louder than words, the song his actions sung was one of complacency with a decadent military might.
“C.B.” Noxa found her voice thundering, echoing through the chamber she just entered. It looked to be some kind of command center — her time with Katsu, imprinting, and her own experience in military complexes had more than prepared hr to recognize one. “Order a broadcast across every single Arcosian frequency.”
There was a hum as a heart-shaped drone no longer than a closed fist found itself pulling from within the red mess of hair. The drone was of a cold, grey metal. However, a holographic light blinked into existence over the tip of the craft once a feminine voice spoke.
“Inquiry: What message would the user like to broadcast?”
“Broadcast this:” Noxa said, her chest buffing out as air filled her lungs and an unexpected fire filled her spirit “The False Emperor and his weak will have fallen to my voice alone. His will proved to be as weak as his grip. I have not encountered a single worthy soldier since my arrival on Arcose. Under the guidance of Lord Retsu I will take reign over Arcose’s upper echelons of military power. All those belonging to the ranks of the Arcosian Empire, who have grown unhappy with this corrosive stagnation expect to be smiling under the coming rule.”
There was a pause in her speech; she expected to need to gather her thoughts, but without any wasted time more pouring out. Her words were confident and laced with something akin to anger and frustration.
“With a military harboring such pathetic might it was no surprise that your planet was — as I have learned — turned into a cold, lifeless asteroid. Deterrence comes only when opposition respects what you are capable of, and do not see you as a joke. Under my guidance expect no longer an Empire spread too thin to be able to fend off for itself, no longer one that must instead rely on decaying alliances with leaders who see you as too weak to be worth defending; under my guidance instead expect a powerful Empire more than capable of expansion, and whose power will be of unquestionable value to those who choose to march at our side.”
There was yet another pause, thought her following words would be short and to the point:
“Those willing to test my words are welcome to do so to whatever extent you desire. I will be at Military Base 51 on Arcose. If you come to fight, bring friends. If you come to enlist, bring all of the drive untapped by the last rule.”
The length of the following silence prompted Noxa’s trusty Collar Bot to end the recording. “Inquiry: Is this to be played once?”
The woman, though her brow furrowed, found herself to be taken by surprise as the feminine AI’s voice came to her. It was though as if she were in a trance — she could hardly remember the words she had said, but she knew she meant them… Even if something within her had amplified whatever sentiments fueled her tirade.
A sigh escaped Noxa. The cool metallic carapace of her gauntlet-covered right hand contrasted with the warm flesh of her left hand, both of which pressed to her face.
“Play it once once you override all channels.” Her voice came after a short break, “After that, play it on a continuous loop for 72 hours on a singular frequency.”
